As the CEO of Clean Energy Holdings LLC, Nicholas has been at the forefront of pioneering green hydrogen technologies, driving transportation, aerospace, and energy security through innovative community-driven delivery models that achieve economic hurdles without requiring tax subsidies.
Nicholas’s leadership extends beyond his executive role, as he also serves as the Chief Financial Officer, underpinning the financial integrity and strategic direction of the company. Nicholas’s tenure at Clean Energy Holdings has been marked by a collaboration with top-tier EPCs (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction), OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers), and PMCM (Project Management and Construction Management) partners to deliver second-generation energy technologies and infrastructure solutions that redefine the landscape of renewable energy in the United States.
These transformational technology advancements, Nicholas led with Joint Ventures with Major Public OEM’s. Before Nicholas current endeavors, Nicholas played an integral role in developing Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), leveraging his expertise to bridge gaps between government entities and private organizations. His experience includes serving as Chief of Staff and policy advisor for an Honorable Representative as well as engaging with legislative processes during two sessions with an Honorable Senator. Nicholas’s formative professional years were spent at Ch2M, where he delved into Applied Science working on significant projects including Superfund Sites, NGO initiatives, Restoration and Complex Water Management and Government contracts.
Notably, he represented his company in one of the first transitions from a traditional Oil Sands oil refinery to a cutting-edge steam assisted gravity drainage (SAGD) facility. This project not only achieved zero discharge water but also provided electrical generation for both the plant and its surrounding community – a testament to Nicholas’s dedication to sustainable development and water resource management. In subsequent roles as Manager of Construction and Project Manager within a major Technical Division, Nicholas honed his skills in managing complex engineering and construction projects internationally and across various sectors, such as W2E (Waste-to-Energy), hydrogen, ethylene, geothermal, and other emerging technologies.
His comprehensive understanding of infrastructure is further evidenced by his contributions to a major PMCM firm specializing in this field. Nicholas served as Program Manager and Construction Manager building a state-of-the-art Hospital, and other supporting facilities. including managing the selection and installation of leading technologies for operating rooms, Emergency room and supporting start-up initiatives has also been part of Nicholas’s diverse career portfolio. His insights have contributed significantly to the growth of companies focusing on innovative solutions like vertical access wind turbines.
Educationally grounded with a Bachelor of Science in Ecosystems Analysis & Environmental Stewardship from Oregon State University, Nicholas has combined academic excellence with real-world applications to make tangible impacts in environmental policy and sustainable practices. Nicholas I. Bair’s journey through various facets of energy production and environmental stewardship reflects a deep-seated commitment to innovation and sustainability. Nicholas was raised on the first west coast organic dairy farm, where he learned the work ethic and creative thinking to provide vertically integrated solutions. Based in Redmond, Washington, he continues to lead Clean Energy Holdings LLC with strategic vision and unwavering dedication to leading the transformation of energy, mobility and aerospace with green hydrogen and emerging technologies for hydrogen complexes across the Unites States.
